SHAWARMA

Shawarma spice mix originated in the Levant region of the Middle East — particularly Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey. The word originates from the Turkish word çevirme, which means to turn. 

  • 3/4 tbsp ground cumin

  • 3/4 tbsp ground turmeric

  • 3/4 tbsp ground coriander

  • 3/4 tbsp garlic powder

  • 3/4 tbsp sweet paprika 

  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

HAWAIJ

Hawaij originated in Yemen and has a warm, earthy, and aromatic flavor profile that can be used in both sweet and savory dishes,​​

  • 2 tbsp ground cumin

  • 2 tbsp ground coriander

  • 1 tbsp ground turmeric

  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp ground cardamom

  • 1 tbsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp allspice

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp nutmeg
